Vinnytsia Region is an oblast of Ukraine. Its administrative center - Vinnytsia.
The total farmland area is 19,605 sq.km.
As of 1 January 1997 in the oblast there were functioning 749 collective agricultural enterprises, 56 state farms of all systems, 25 inter farm agricultural enterprises and 818 private farms.
Agricultural enterprises of all forms of ownership are primarily specialized in growing of cereal crops and sugar beets, the animal husbandry, meat and milk production. In the overall structure of sown areas, winter wheat crops occupy 18%, barley 14% and sugar beets 10%.
The Vinnytsia Oblast is administratively subdivided into 27 districts, as well as 6 cities which are directly subordinate to the oblast government: Khmilnyk

Vinnytsia was an important trade and political center of note since as early as the sixteenth century. More specifically, the city played a significant role during Cossack wars as well as during World War II. Great Purge victims' graves were exhumed by the Germans in 1943.
Adolf Hitler sited his easternmost headquarters near the town and spent a number of weeks there in 1942 and early 1943.

Baptist Church - Reportedly one of the largest Evangelical Church Buildings in all of Europe.
Afghan War Museum and Slavic War Memorial Park -- The Afghan War Museum is located in the red-brick bell tower. Exhibits include photos, letters and other artifacts representing Vinnytsa soldiers who fought in that war. The Memorial Park contains a large statue representing three different soldiers from WWII. An eternal flame burns in front of the statue
Vinnytsya Region has the well-developed transport infrastructure. The row of strategic routes passes through the region’s territory.
The cultural inheritance of the people is highly valued in the region. Under the governmental guard there are almost 3,5 thousand sights. These are unique archaeological sights of Trypillya culture, Nemyriv Scythian town, rock monastery in the village of Busha of Yampil district, museum-farmstead of Mykhaylo Kotsyubynsky in Vinnytsya, memorial farmstead and burial-vault of prominent surgeon, publicman and teacher M. I. Pyrogov. In Brayilov of Zhmerynka district the museum of P. Tchaikovsky has been created as well as in Voronovtsi of Vinnytsya district, in the former palace of inventor of the first aircraft O. Mozhaysky – the museum of history of aviation and cosmonautics.
In the market conditions the historical and cultural property also must provide profit, and the regional authorities understand it. The tourists are served by more than 40 organizations rendering services to the amount of many million hryvna.
